Webcasts
The conference will be streamed live, compliments of the Internet2 Commons. Streaming is set to include all main track presentations and breakout sessions. This will begin Monday afternoon, March 28, around 2:30 Eastern Time (U.S.) until about 4:30. Streaming will resume Tuesday, 8:45 am to 5:30 pm, and Wednesday, 8:45 am to 4:00 pm. To pick up the stream during the program sessions of interest to you, please go to: http://commonsvcg.oar.net/ViDe.
A portion of the activities will be available in streaming and video-on-demand HDTV. This is possible due to the combined efforts of Brazil's RNP and the University of Tennessee's LoCI Laboratory. RNP is responsible for the development and availability of DynaVideo, a multi-platform digital video distribution network for live and on-demand content. For the storage solution, LoCI Lab has built the National Logistical Network Testbed, a high-performance (global) resource for storage and transport of bulk data. Integration of the services and coverage of the conference is assisted by Nevoa Networks.
Live HD-quality streams (DynaVideo) can be accessed at http://dlive.lavid.ufpb.br/index.php?secao=suravide. Archived copies (LoDN) can be obtained at http://www.cs.utk.edu/~atchley/ViDe2005.html.
The Conference proceedings will also be available through OpenCDN, an application-level content delivery network, suitable for replication and splitting of live and recorded multimedia content, currently under development.
