Overview

Many options exist for users for interative and on-demand technologies. Students expect anytime, anywhere access to resources and may use a whole range of applications from streaming to hand helds to high definition TV. This workshop explores emerging streaming technologies including an overview of multicast, DVTS, DV/IP, PDAs, HD to the desktop, costs, bandwidth requirements and how production considerations vary for different types of distribution. There will be an opportunity for attendees to gain hands-on experience with DV software and hardware configurations. Internet2 and ResearchChannel experts will share lessons learned and provide information and resources to incorporate streaming technologies for your campus.
